Being co owner at RocknRomance Vintage the most frequently asked question as we move into summertime is what shall i wear to Goodwood Revival ??
As always i am more than happy to help and in this blog i want to list some personal favourites and show you some fuss free , easy to wear and pair outfit ideas that are perfect for Goodwood Revival .. and can be worn again too ..
Now, i know that dressing in vintage attire isn't for everybody, but trust me dressing for this spectacular event not only adds to the excitement of the day but so many attendees if not ALL do so, some go full on with a true and classic vintage style.. and some go with just a "nod" to vintage style ..

Let me show you how to put a Goodwood Revival vintage outfit together , starting with 1940s style..There are few styles of a 40s dress.. but collars sleeves and necklines varied, here are 3 styles of 40s dress that i would recommend as a go to for a day at Goodwood Revival as they are easily dressed up or down..
shirtdress, tea dress ..and a kitty foyle ..

Choosing a classic staple dress like the above would be kept simple in keeping with the era, the 1940s was of course elegant however lets not forget there was a war happening.. flat brogue type shoes would be perfect to keep you comfortable for a day exploring Goodwood.. Comfort is king here as its a full day of exploring this vast site.. equally don't over think it and go with some plain flat pumps/sandals ..
Add simple hair and a red lipstick to finish the look..

If you prefer trousers but still want to add a 40s look to your outfit .. the Audrey trousers are perfect and so comfortable .. which is exactly what my good friend Lisa wore below a couple of years ago.. (it was her and her husbands first time and they have been coming back with us ever since .. and are always upping their outfits creations nowadays ..
Vintage style isn't their everyday however our pieces are just as classic now as they were back in the day and can easily be worn to work and other to other occasions as Lisa now does..
With a nod to the 1950s now (my favourite era) skirts got bigger colours and prints got bright and bolder and the RocknRoll music influenced this era..

All three of these dress can easily be dressed up or down .. add a jacket, gloves a flower and brooch even ? .. have a play around with accessories..
True vintage clothing nowadays is so very hard to find and i also understand that for some you might not want to spend a fortune on delicate cherishable clothing that you may only ever wear to this event .. our pieces can easily be worn day to day and are machine washable at 30 degrees .. ( please read care instructions)
