"Mae" Tea Dress in Green with Cream Contrasts, Classic 1940s Inspired Vintage Style

This Mae Tea Dress is probably one of the most beautiful Vintage Dresses I've ever seen. It is not only Vintage, it is a classic that can be worn by anyone on any a bit more elegant occasion. Unfortunately size 10 was sold out and size 8 is a bit too small. The Material ist great, 100% Rayon Crepe de Chine. German: Das ist das wahrscheinlich schönste Vintage Kleid, das ich je gesehen habe. Es ist nicht nur Vintage, es ist ein zeitloser Klassiker, das von fast jeder zu fast jedem etwas eleganteren Anlass getragen werden kann. Die Größe 10 war leider ausverkauft, und Gr 8 leider zu klein, darum retour, aber in einer anderen Farbe oder so wieder zu mir. Das Material 100% Crepe de China ist eine Seidenart, auf gut Deutsch, es ist ein Seidenkleid, aber eben Crepe, "angeraut", greift sich nicht wie glatte Seide an, ist aber vom Tragekomfort luxuriös. Bin begeistert!

The Mae is my go to dress, very easy to dress up or down. I have it in every colourway, so i obviously love it :D. The green has come up slightly smaller than my other three though strangely.

The Mae Tea Dress is probably my favourite 'Seamstress of Bloomsbury' style bought from RocknRomance. I just received the green one but have had the Mae in red for over a year. The features of the dress that I particularly like are the long, full circular skirt, the cream contrast detailing and the general standard of tailoring. In the picture I am wearing a light cotton petticoat but the generous circle skirt would also look good with a full net petticoat to adapt the 40's aesthetic to a 50’s style. The cream double collar detail and contrasting angled buttonholes, as well as the feature square buttons really emphasise vintage quality. The belt helps to emphasise the fitted body of the dress, which is extremely flattering to my pear shaped figure. Like most dresses of this brand, it is made from an authentic semi-synthetic rayon crepe de chine. The fabric is pleasantly light and drapey and feels a bit like silk. It is much nicer than modern synthetics. However, it does take a bit more ironing than some fabrics and needs to be treated with care. This dress is a little longer than most Seamstress of Bloomsbury dresses and the skirt is a good below the knee length for me at 5'9". I am between a size 10 and 12 in most stores. In this brand I always order a 12 and have got a couple of items in 14. I recommend sizing up, particularly if you are tall because the skirts get longer with size increases.
